Mark Anker has been styling Central Pennsylvania since he opened his first eyewear boutique in 1991 in Chambersburg, PA. The beginning of his eyewear roots began at the age of 17, when he got a job manufacturing lenses at an Optical Lab in Reading, PA. There he learned the “nuts and bolts” of the optical industry, and found to be quite skilled in the trade. Mark continued on to become a certified Optician with the American Board of Opticianry and through hard work, transcended to open his first store. Mr. Anker has taken the simple motto, that “glasses are more than jewelry to the face” and the conviction that: “eyewear defines who you are” from his youthful beginnings all the way to his role today, directing the reinvention of his new brand Civil Eye’sD Optical in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Mark serves as a frequent eyewear consultant and stylist not only to local customers and businesses but also to designers and corporations. You might find Mark spending his days traveling the world seeking out latest and best trends in eyewear or you might simply find him hanging out in the shop, building relationships and fitting customers “one-on-one”.
